Here, I’ve heard language borrowed from the most conservative anti-gay voices in the U.S. used by some gay and lesbian people against trans people.

This trend includes rhetoric associated with former U.S. President Donald Trump’s rise to power, which included derogatory terms aimed at members of the LGBT community. Additionally, there has been a concerning shift where some gay and lesbian people have started using similar language against transgender individuals.
